Mobile Mine Water Management — on a Skid

The ROTOMAC Mine Dewatering System (MDS) is a complete, skid-mounted mobile unit engineered specifically for the demands of underground and open-cast mining environments — where groundwater ingress must be controlled quickly, reliably, and at significant depth or distance from the surface.

The MDS integrates a holding and settling tank, a robust ROTOMAC progressive cavity pump, a prime mover, localised controls, and all connecting pipework on a single compact baseplate. Everything is pre-assembled and factory-tested — so the unit is ready to operate immediately upon deployment to site.

The compact skid design enables easy transport by forklift or crane between mine sections — making the MDS a truly mobile ground water management solution that goes wherever the mine goes.

Why progressive cavity pump? Mine water typically contains suspended solids, grit, and abrasive particles that rapidly destroy centrifugal pump impellers. ROTOMAC's PC pump handles these solids-laden fluids reliably — with no impeller wear, consistent flow, and dramatically lower maintenance frequency in demanding underground conditions.

Mine Water Collection

Groundwater and mine water flows or is directed into the MDS holding tank via suction pipework at the dewatering point within the mine.

Solids Separation

The integral holding tank allows oversized solids, rock debris, and coarse grit to settle out — protecting the pump from excessive wear and blockage from large particles.

PC Pump Conveys Water

The ROTOMAC PC pump draws water from the settling tank and conveys it through the discharge pipeline — reliably handling suspended fines and solids at up to 40 m³/h and 24 bar.

Surface Discharge

Dewatered mine water is discharged to the surface, a sump, or a treatment system — leaving the mine working area clear and safe for continued operations.
