Precise Chemical Metering — In a Plug & Play Skid
The ROTOMAC Intelligent Dosing System (IDS) is a complete, factory-assembled chemical metering skid that delivers improved process control and reliability across a wide range of dosing applications. It is designed as a modular plug-and-play unit — commissioned quickly, operated simply, and maintained easily.
IDS Chemical Dosing Systems find their use in many industries for disinfection, pH control, flocculation, corrosion inhibitors, oxygen scavengers, and containment elimination. The flexible layout options mean the right configuration is always available — whether you need a single-pump simplex unit or a fully redundant triplex arrangement for critical dosing duty.
What makes it "intelligent"? The IDS integrates a geared drive with a vector frequency drive and localised controller into a single compact unit. This combination provides precise pump speed control, accurate real-time metering, and full monitoring of skid operations — from a single panel, without external controllers or complex wiring.
Three Pump Configurations
The IDS is available in three standard configurations to suit your process requirements — from single-duty dosing to fully redundant critical-service installations.
One active dosing pump with its own drive, controller, and skid pipework. The most compact and cost-effective option — ideal for non-critical dosing applications where process continuity is not at risk during maintenance.
One active duty pump and one standby pump on a common skid. The standby pump automatically activates if the duty pump trips or requires maintenance — ensuring continuous dosing without operator intervention. Ideal for semi-critical applications.
Two active duty pumps and one full standby — or two-of-three duty with one standby. The highest level of dosing redundancy available. For critical chemical dosing where any interruption would impact safety, process quality, or regulatory compliance.
Four Features That Set IDS Apart
Every feature of the ROTOMAC IDS is engineered to deliver measurable improvements in dosing accuracy, operational efficiency, and maintenance simplicity.
Compact Drive & Controller
The IDS employs a Geared Drive with an integrated Vector Frequency Drive in a compact, unified design. This eliminates the need for a separate VFD panel or external speed controller — keeping the skid footprint small and commissioning straightforward.
- Geared drive ensures precise, repeatable pump speed at all flow rates
- Integrated vector drive provides stepless flow adjustment from 0 to full speed
- Localised controller manages all skid operations from a single panel
- Monitors pump status, drive parameters, and dosing totals in real time
Gentle & Precise
For accurate, repeatable dosing flow — the IDS produces minimal pulsation, eliminating the need for pulsation dampeners that add cost and complexity to conventional metering pump installations.
- Accurate flow rate directly proportional to pump speed — no calibration drift
- Repeatable dosing cycle to cycle — critical for pH control and flocculation
- Minimal pulsation eliminates downstream pressure fluctuations
- No pulsation dampeners required — reduces skid complexity and cost
Efficient Operation
Low slippage characteristics of the IDS pump design ensure better operational efficiency across the full speed and capacity range. The vector drive maintains optimal motor efficiency regardless of load — minimising energy consumption throughout the dosing cycle.
- Low internal pump slippage maintains volumetric accuracy at all speeds
- Vector drive optimises motor torque and power consumption at every operating point
- Better turndown ratio — accurate dosing achievable at very low flow rates
- Reduced heat generation extends seal and elastomer service life
Easy Maintenance
Simple and predictive maintenance is a core design principle of the IDS. Minimal components mean fewer wear items, faster servicing, and lower total cost of ownership compared to complex multi-component dosing arrangements.
- Minimal component count reduces the number of items requiring routine inspection
- Predictive maintenance enabled through integrated drive and controller monitoring
- Fast access to pump internals for stator, rotor, and seal replacement
- ROTOMAC genuine spare parts stocked and dispatched rapidly from Kanpur

At-a-glance performance summary for the IDS
Why the ROTOMAC IDS?
The ROTOMAC IDS brings together the reliability of a proven PC pump, the intelligence of a vector-drive controller, and the convenience of a plug-and-play skid — in one package that outperforms conventional dosing pump arrangements on every metric.
Dosing Accuracy You Can Rely On
Flow proportional to pump speed, minimal pulsation, and low slippage mean the IDS delivers the dose you set — accurately and repeatably, every time. Critical for pH control, flocculation, and disinfection applications.
Faster Installation & Commissioning
A plug-and-play skid unit arrives at site pre-assembled, pre-piped, pre-wired, and factory-tested. Site commissioning time is a fraction of that required for a component-by-component installation.
Reduced Operational Cost
Low slippage, efficient vector drive, and minimal components combine to reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs over the life of the system — delivering a better total cost of ownership.
Flexible Redundancy Options
Choose simplex for economy, duplex for standby protection, or triplex for maximum dosing availability. The modular skid design means you can specify the right level of redundancy for every application.
Predictive Maintenance Ready
The integrated controller monitors drive parameters, pump speed, and operating hours — allowing maintenance to be planned based on actual usage rather than fixed intervals, reducing unnecessary downtime.
Backed by ROTOMAC
