A Progressive Cavity Pump works by transferring fluid between cavities formed by the interaction of a helical rotor turning inside a double-helix stator. As the rotor rotates eccentrically, sealed cavities move from inlet to outlet, carrying the fluid. This produces a smooth, low-pulsation, positive-displacement flow — ideal for viscous, shear-sensitive, and abrasive fluids.
ROTOMAC pumps serve a broad range of industries including Oil & Gas, Food & Pharmaceuticals, Mining, Chemical & Pulp, Environmental & Energy, and Biogas applications. They handle fluids ranging from clean liquids to highly viscous, abrasive, or shear-sensitive slurries and pastes.
Each pump ships with its operating and maintenance manual. If you need a replacement copy or documentation for a specific model, contact us at contact@rotomac.org with your pump's Serial Number (found on the nameplate). Our team will provide the relevant documentation promptly.
Refer to the parts list in your pump's maintenance manual. Each part is listed with a ROTOMAC part number. When requesting spares, share the pump model and serial number along with the part number(s). If unsure, our service team at servicesupport@rotomac.org will help you identify the correct parts.
Maintenance frequency depends on the fluid handled and operating conditions. As a general guide: check coupling and seals monthly, inspect stator and rotor every 6 months for normal applications, and more frequently for abrasive media. Full overhaul is recommended annually or as specified in your pump's manual. ROTOMAC's AMC program takes care of all of this for you.
Common causes include worn stator or rotor (the most frequent), incorrect rotation direction, air leaks at the inlet, partially blocked suction line, or motor speed below specification. Check each in order. If the issue persists, email servicesupport@rotomac.org with your pump serial number and a description of symptoms — our engineers will diagnose remotely and advise the next step.
While third-party parts may appear similar, they are rarely manufactured to the exact material specifications and tolerances required. Using non-genuine parts typically leads to reduced performance, accelerated wear, premature failure, and may void your service warranty. ROTOMAC strongly recommends using only ROTOMAC® Genuine Spare Parts to protect your investment.
